Wyndham Championship Recap: All hail King Henrik!

What a time to make an ACE! This hole-in-one may get Flores into the #FedExCup Playoffs!#QuickHits — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 //
Getting buckets with the bucket hat. 🚨 ANOTHER hole-in-one! 🚨 This one from @BenCraneGolf! — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 // It really is great that Martin Flores hit that beautiful stroke on 16, as it helped him finish tied for 7th and sneak into the top 125. making the FedEx Cup playoffs can do wonders for a golfers career, and even though Flores is no young gun, he now has a great chance to drastically improve his world golf ranking and his financial security. Flores wasn't the only player to sneak into the top 125 with his play today. Rory Sabbatini was able to JUST sneak in at 122 with his T4 finish. Of course, this "chip in" on 16 helped him seal a spot.
Are you serious? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!#QuickHits — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 // But enough about that, lets get to the leaders. Entering today, Henrik Stenson and Kevin Na would play in the final group, while Ollie Schneiderjans would play just before them. If you recall in my DraftKings blog on Wednesday, I did say that Ollie would be a great addition to any roster (and thats the last I talk about that article: thanks Summerhays and An for ruining my weekend.). Well, he did not fail to disappoint, though I do disapprove of his crazy putting stroke. One of the last players to have a true 1 iron in the bag, he used the driving iron to perfection today.
Apex? 39 feet. Distance? 341 yards. (He hit iron.) — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 // Ollie had a great day out on the loop, shooting a 64 and ending with -21 overall. However, as my grandfather used to say, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Entering the 17th hole, Ollie and Stenson were tied at the top. Ollie went into the clubhouse with his score and his head held high. Stenson, meanwhile, did this:
.@HenrikStenson's footsteps are LOUD!#QuickHits — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 // The iceman, as the PGA Tour account calls him (I like king Henrik better but oh well) with ice in his veins on that putt! Stenson played the 18th hole to absolute perfection, and with his par putt, finished up capturing his 6th PGA tour win of his career.
Ice in his veins.@HenrikStenson has won the @WyndhamChamp! It's his 6th career PGA TOUR win. 🏆 — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 20, 2017 // Though I am happy Henrik pulled out a victory, you have to feel a little bit for Ollie. He has had a terrific rookie season and it would have made it even sweeter if he was able to top it off with a victory. I am very excited to see what he can do in the FedEx Cup; hopefully he can get a top 10 finish in one of the tournaments and continue his great season. Overall, it was a very entertaining tournament: we had some great stories, some agonizing endings for players, and a great final few groups. Here's hoping that next week's top 125 will have the same entertainment value to it!
