Steph Curry will once again compete on the Web.com Tour!
(via Golf Channel ) Three-time NBA champion Stephen Curry will step back inside the ropes on the Web.com Tour next week. For the second year in a row, Curry has been granted a sponsor's exemption into the field at the Ellie Mae Classic outside San Francisco. Curry impressed in his Web.com debut last year, recording consectuive rounds of 4-over 74. “The players on the Web.com Tour welcomed me with open arms in 2017, and it was an amazing experience to play with up-and-coming PGA Tour stars inside the ropes at TPC Stonebrae,” Curry said in a statement. And just like that, after hating on him and the Warriors throughout this entire year, I am fully back on board with Steph Curry! This is some Bo Jackson stuff right here, being able to be a top-5 player in the NBA, arguably one of the most influential athletes of this generation, also being good enough to qualify for a Web.com event. https://twitter.com/WebDotComTour/status/1023916167315025920 And just like when Tony Romo tried to qualify for the US Open this year, I love it when other athletes get involved in golf. Whether it's Larry Fitzgerald playing charity events, to Charles Barkley showing us his absolutely brutal swing, these athletes bring awareness to our great game. I mean, how many times do you think you'll see a kid try to get a sneaker signed by Jordan Speith or Dustin Johnson? https://twitter.com/WebDotComTour/status/1023966236261142528 Now, do I think Steph will make the cut? Nope, probably not. That is not the biggest thing though, what matters is that the Ellie Mae Classic will be given some awesome publicity and the event will probably be hailed as one of the best Web.com events of the year!
