Gary Woodland has torn labrum in left hip

This is a legit gut punch. Gary had a pretty miraculous win last year at Pebble Beach, edging out back-to-back champ Brooks Koepka by three strokes. This week, I thought Winged Foot would be a course that he could excel at: he bombs his driver, but also is very accurate and has been decent around the greens this year.

After his 2nd round, he announced his torn labrum in his left hip, and his performance at Winged Foot now makes a little more sense. He looked uncomfortable with some shots, and overall his play just didn't look up to his normal play.

I hope that Gary is able to take some time to rest and recuperate. Hopefully, and this is a big hope, he will be healthy in time for the Masters in November.
