In the least shocking news in golf, Dustin Johnson was officially named the Jack Nicklaus Award recipient for 2020. DJ took the PGA Tour by storm in August and September, finishing in the top 20 in the last 5 events of the season, and in the top 5 in the last 4. Not only that, but DJ won 2 out of the three FedEx Cup playoff tournaments, and lost in a playoff in the third.
Safe to say, it was an impressive end of the season for DJ. Three victories on the year, 7 top 10s, and only three missed cuts (including his withdrawal from the 3M Open). And while players like Justin Thomas definitely had a claim to the Player of the Year as well, what DJ was able to do down the stretch sealed the deal.
So overall, a fantastic year for the PGA Tour, and a fantastic year for Dustin Johnson. Here's hoping we see his continued success in 2020-2021 season!
