Brooks Koepka Withdraws from the US Open

Man, this is a shocker. The two-time champion has officially withdrawn from the tournament, citing his recent knee issues as the main culprit.

This is a MAJOR blow for the major championship. Koepka took home the US Open Trophy in 2017 (Erin Hills) and 2018 (Shinnecock Hills), and was a favorite at Winged Foot this year. Not only that, but Koepka is known to be a big tournament player, having 4 of his 7 total PGA Tour wins coming in Major Championship format. He was in the hunt at this years PGA Championship, only to have a rough final round to finish T29 at Harding Park.

While this is a huge loss for the tournament, we here at Duffin' Up wish Brooks a speedy recovery and return back to golf! We will all miss his incredible driving and ball striking at a challenging Winged Foot course this year.
